The Best Spots in Asheville for Valentine's Day

The Best Spots in Asheville for Valentine's Day - The Bright Angle

Our team at The Bright Angle is comprised of so many positive people. We love love, and we aren’t ashamed of that. Are you a fellow eternal optimist who is totally stumped on what to do in Asheville on Valentine’s Day? Whether you’re flying solo, hanging with a friend, or with someone special - we’re here to help!

Flora

We would begin with a stroll into Flora on Haywood. Any day is made better with fresh flowers, and they are to be expected on such a lovely holiday! The moment you walk in the door, you are greeted with stunning floral arrangements, terrariums and other plant and garden gifts that will suit just about any of your loved ones. Stick in in a Bloom Vase and you've got yourself an ideal gift.

Bonus: Flora is more than a plant shop - it’s attached to it’s caffeinated counterpart, Forage, where you can pick up a gluten free muffin and Matcha Latte.

PennyCup Coffee Co.

If your partner is more into coffee over flowers, head over to Penny Cup Coffee Co. and chat over a couple of lattes. Here at the Bright Angle, go through a couple of pounds of Penny Cup a week in the studio. We switch up the blend weekly, always brewed in our Savant Pourover Set. They are masters of sourcing beans, so we go through all different flavors from nutty and chocolatey, to sweet and aromatic.

French Broad Chocolate Lounge

What else goes hand in hand with the holiday? Chocolate! Many Ashevillians know the one premiere location for the best cocoa nibbles: French Broad Chocolate Lounge! Allow us to recommend the Salted Honey Caramel Truffle which consists of local wildflower honey with grass-fed cream & butter, covered in dark chocolate and sea salt. So decadent, simple and delicious! Bring your partner a handpicked collection of chocolates for the ultimate Valentine’s treat.

The Spa at The Grove Park Inn

If you’re really going all out for the holiday, The spa at The Grove Park Inn is unreal. Enjoy a Couple’s Retreat massage - two 50-minute tandem Grove Park Classic Massages, followed by an aromatic hydrotherapy bath (say what?!) and relax with chilled champagne and chocolate covered strawberries. Like I said, unreal!

Chemist

Next stop: drinks! Head over to our neighbors at Chemist for a handcrafted cocktail. If you’re feeling a romantic evening at home, grab a bottle of their gin to go and make yourself one of their most delicious cocktails. Here’s the recipe to get you started. (It’s red because Valentines Day.)

Herbed-Infused Beet Gin Fizz:

  • 4 red beets
  • 2 small lemons
  • 3 sprigs of rosemary
  • 3 sprigs of lemon thyme (optional)
  • 1/2 cup organic cane sugar
  • 1/2 cup water
  • Ginger beer or club soda (use club soda for less sugar)
  • 6 oz Chemist American Style Gin
  • Sliced beets and extra rosemary sprigs for garnish (optional)

And for dinner?

Asheville has so many amazing restaurants, we had a hard time choosing just one. For the final event of the evening, grab yourself some dinner at any of the following (you really can’t go wrong here). Here are a few of our favorites:

Happy Valentine's Day from The Bright Angle!
